Website Design, Internet Marketing, and SEO Industries are all being deceived by misrepresentation of American Freelancers or American Companies, who deceivingly are actually all located offshore, in India. I’ve been contemplating this for a while now. Everyone in this industry, Website Design and Internet Marketing, acknowledges the existence of offshore Design and SEO Companies we have to compete with; simply due to their seemingly cheap $12/hr service charge. In fact, many of us may have had too much work on our desks, and actually needed to hire one of these offshore companies for a project. They present their presence to us in every aspect (telemarketing, emails after emails, leads, etc) with the greatness in cheap hiring costs with decent quality work.
Offshore DESIGNERS AND SEO’S , they mostly come from India, but the problem I am seeing now is that they are transitioning from being a helping SEO hand/tool, to actually slowly taking over the US/Canadian SEO and WEB DESIGN INDUSTRY (Hear me out), gaining more and more visibility and taking more and more contracts that would have been ours, over time and increasing at an alarming rate. - It’s just another load to add on to our economy’s downfall right now, but I’m more concerned with OUR INDUSTRY. OH -BTW, I voted to STOP PIPA AND SOPA, obviously -owning an SEO Company. IT’S NOT ABOUT THAT THOUGH (pipa/sopa). I myself, being a smaller, but decently successful SEO company, Business Enhancement -http://www.businessenhancement.net , never once hired offshore help to get a site done. I recently, for the first time, almost did this offshore practice, not even knowing it was happening!!- THERE IS A DANGER IN IT, AND I STRONGLY URGE ALL DESIGNERS AND SEO COMPANIES TO STAY AWAY FROM OFFSHORE HELP, NO MATTER WHAT. I don’t want to see the day come when our businesses (unless we grow them exponentially into corporate or large sized companies soon) fail due to cheap offshore costs.There's a story of misrepresentation here, so stay with me now...OF INDIAN CO's CLAIMING TO BE EITHER FREELANCERS OR ACTUAL UNITED STATES BASED WEB DESIGN AND SEO COMPANIES FALSELY. Now, I’m not crazy - my concern comes from watching and researching the development of the offshore SEO’S/Web Design companies. They are no longer just trying to nab small jobs from all of “us” (From now on, “US” refers to seo industry and companies effected), us being the Designers and SEO Expert management companies. They are now using deceiving ways to steal contracts by misrepresentation. They are going into American and Canadian online classifieds and reporting in ad’s that they are U.S. Citizen freelancers, they are writing to our companies, claiming to be from 1234 main street, best city, Colorado, USA and a freelancer needing work. They forward us their resumes and we give them freelance work/help at times. Well, guess what - Alot of it, if not all the funds we give them, go to their overseas corporations, where they actually live (Not in best city, Colorado) which have grown from small oversees SEO Companies who’ve been deceiving of the past 5 years. They are now India based Corporations or large enterprise companies, simply because they lie about who they are and who the represent to “US” and to New and Existing Companies building up in the USA, needing web design and SEO Services. We are losing so many contracts daily, by deceit! READ ON, SEE THE RESEARCH BACKING MY CLAIM --->
I ask you - DO THE RESEARCH on these people. They are using deceiving methods to break into the wonderful world we have created in the states/canada for SEO Techniques, networking, and so on THE REAL WAY, THE RIGHT WAY, THE LEGAL WAY..... following all the changes of google along the way.
******* So, I originally found out that this was happening by a simple email that i researched and went fully thru to find a corporate company claiming to be a girl named sandra who was a freelancer down the street. THE QUICK STORY: I posted an ad for a freelancer to help me build a site (I hate doing it, but I was slammed), got tons of responses and decided to fully research each individual person fully. 2 out of 10 were actual freelancers from the states, the were one of “US.” 8 OUT OF THE 10 WERE LYING DECEIVING CORPORATE COMPANIES IN INDIA, TRYING TO SWEEP THE SEO MARKET COMPLETELY OUT FROM UNDER OUR FEET. The first email out of this group of 80%, I responded to, was supposedly a young girl in best city, Colorado, USA. I went in emailing back and forth gathering and asking more questions about her and if she was solely working for herself as a freelancer. I even went into conversations about payments which she originally agreed to 12$/hr that i represented (I was trying to avoid anything but the fact of her misrepresentations of an American Freelancing Girl). Her response was of course, it would just be between me and her, and that she only lived a city away, that I could trust her with hosting codes, etc. Well after doing some research through her (pasted into the email) resume, I went through her portfolio. Guess what I found?? At the bottom of every site designed, it states who it was designed by, right?? Well, every single one of the 5 sites in her portfolio stated: “This website was designed by EMAXGLOBAL. I clicked the company title: EMAXGLOBAL and was redirected to their Indian offshore SEO Enterprise. I asked Sandra again, if she was sure and promises that she’s a solo freelancer from the states. She replied yes. In an authoritative manner, I switched modes, after being directly lied to, & thinking of all of “US” that have been lied to & taken advantage of. And so, I told her about the information I researched on her, her resume and portfolio, and also that I learned about the company she actually currently works for offshore. I, by email, explained that while it is legal to represent an offshore company, it is actually ILLEGAL or at the least -extremely unbusinesslike & Immorally wrong to misrepresent herself, stating she was an American Freelancer, when in fact, she (whoever she actually is) was representing an offshore SEO Corporation.
So, needless to say, this girl, in Best City, USA, who was eager to communicate through email back and forth quickly over a couple of days -has not yet replied to my last email. I researched the other 7 out of 8 freelancers I was suspicious of and every 7 had the same effect of being an offshore Indian Company. 80% of the Local Freelancer’s I was asking for, to help me build One website, were in fact a deceiving Corporate Enterprise -hiding behind a false name and false identification and misrepresenting an American Individual Freelancer.
WE NEED TO PROTECT OURSELVES. WE NEED TO PROTECT AND KEEP THE MANY CONTRACTS WE ARE LOSING TO DECEIVING OVERSEAS COMPANIES. PEOPLE!!!! THESE ARE OUR CONTRACTS, OUR WORK AND OUR MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS... AND IT’S GETTING TAKEN AWAY MORE AND MORE. I JUST HOPE YOU REALIZE IT’S HAPPENING. -INDIA COULD VERY WELL, ONE DAY, HAVE TAKE THE ENTIRE OR MAJORITY OF THE SEO INDUSTRY RIGHT FROM UNDER OUR FEET, AND WE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IT - WELL NOW WE DO! BECAUSE OF THE DECEIVING MISREPRESENTATIONS THEY ARE USING, LET’S UNITE AND STOP USING OFFSHORE COMPANIES FOR HELP FOR OVERLOADED PROJECTS. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND GET A FREELANCER, BUT KNOW WHO THAT FREELANCER ACTUALLY IS. DO WHAT I DID AND ENSURE WHO YOU'RE FREELANCE HIRING IS LEGIT AND KEEP THE INDUSTRY IN THE USA! -LOVE YOU ALL, HOPE YOU LISTEN - KEEP OUR WORK OURS! I KNOW SOMETIMES WE NEED TO OUTSOURCE... BUT JUST DO EVERYTHING TO ENSURE THE OUTSOURCING STAYS STATESIDE, WITH A FREELANCER THAT ACTUALLY LIVES IN BEST CITY, COLORADO, USA! LOVE YOU ALL, SEO's! XO
